Mácher, Lanzarote — The Village Between Volcano and Sea
Ten minutes to the airport, eight to the coast, and a world away from the tourist strip. Why Mácher is the south's best-kept starting point.
Casa del Aljibe is a privately owned design villa rooted in Canarian tradition – a place where volcanic landscapes, warm Atlantic light and thoughtful interiors come together. Your stay, entirely your own.
Warm enough to swim year-round, including winter
Quiet village, eight minutes from Puerto del Carmen
Like the historic cistern that gives it its name, Casa del Aljibe is built to hold something worth keeping. Two bedrooms with super king beds, a kitchen equipped for real cooking, and a heated pool that stays warm even in winter – set between volcanic hills and the Atlantic.
Aljibe [alˈxi.βe]: a cistern used in the Canary Islands to collect rainwater
It was stunning, just like in the pictures. The pool was very well heated, which was a nice surprise, so we could use it every day in March."
Oxford
Everything was wonderful - one of the best Airbnb experiences I've ever had. I rate it 10/10."
A Coruña
The stay in this peaceful environment was very pleasant. Everything was available for a relaxing time. The location was ideal to drive anywhere on the island."

Two bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen and a private heated pool – designed with Canarian craft and contemporary comfort. Your own private corner of the island.
The villa is entirely yours – no shared spaces, no schedules. Wake to the Atlantic light, cook with proper equipment, and end the day in a pool warm enough for March. Fast WiFi, private parking and self check-in mean nothing stands between you and the island.
Private parking at your door, ten minutes to the airport, and easy reach of every corner of the island. Puerto del Carmen's beaches and restaurants, the capital Arrecife, hidden fishing villages – all a short drive.
No car? Taxis run regularly and the island is compact enough to explore without one. From here, every Lanzarote landmark is within reach.
Like most good things, Casa del Aljibe began unplanned. In 2020, we escaped to Lanzarote in search of space and sunlight, but Mácher refused to let us leave. Josef now lives on the island year-round, caring for the villa and adding the personal touch that make a stay special. Tom works in Austria, but he never stays away for long. This is our place, and yours when you're here.
